Water Conservation.

Water conservation refers to reducing the usage of water and recycling of waste water for different purposes.#water

The goals of water conservation efforts include as follows:
1) Sustainability. To ensure availability for future generations. #water
2) Energy conservation. Water pumping, delivery, and wastewater treatment facilities consume a significant amount of energy. #water
3) Habitat conservation. Minimizing human water use helps to preserve fresh water habitats for local wildlife & migrating waterfowl.#water

The following tweets after this are some of the ways and tips that could be use to ensure the conservation of water.
The tips given to conserve #water might be small but if we care an awful lot to practice it, the impact will be significantly huge.

  • Don't use the toilet as an ashtray. Every time you flush a cigarette butt, 18 to 26 litre of #water is wasted.
  • Conserving water can also extend the life of our septic system by reducing soil saturation, and reducing any pollution due to leaks.#water
  • In addition to saving money on your utility bill, #water conservation helps prevent water pollution in lakes, rivers and local watersheds.
  • Check your sprinkler system frequently and adjust sprinklers so only your lawn is watered and not the house, sidewalk, or street. #water
  • If you accidentally drop ice cubes when filling your glass, don't throw them in the sink. Drop them in a house plant instead. #water
  • Select the proper size pans for cooking. Large pans require more cooking water than may be necessary. #water
  • Wash clothes only when you have a full load and save up to 600 gallons each month. #water
  • Bathe your young children together. I often do this and IMHO, it's fun and a great way to foster bonding between siblings. #water
  • Turn off the water while you brush your teeth and save 4 gallons/minute. That's 200 gallons a week for a family of four. #water
  • For those with children, teach them to turn the tap off tightly after each use :) #water
  • Designate one glass for your drinking water each day. This will cut down on the number of times you run your tap to wash it. #water
  • When you clean your fish tank, use the water you've drained on your plants. The water is rich in nitrogen and phosphorus. #water
  • Time your shower to keep it under 5 minutes. You'll save up to 1000 gallons a month. #water
  • Wash your produce in the sink or a pan that is partially filled with water instead of running water from the tap. #water
  • Run your washing machine and dishwasher only when they are full and you could save 1000 gallons a month. #water
  • Use a water-efficient showerhead. They're inexpensive, easy to install, and can save you up to 750 gallons a month. #water
  • Remember what the Lorax said, "unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing's going to get better. It's not". #water
